In September the MATS conference returns to the Coventry Arena and is planned to be bigger and better than ever with our headline sponsor Mitie. Recall Notice for Omni 1.1" Pulley Variants, 20050xxx through 22304xxx: Stop Use and Remove from Service. NATE Member Gravitec Systems Inc. just shared the following product recall information for the Omni 1.1" Pulley Variants, 20050xxx through 22304xxx. “The button assembly on a limited number of 1.1” Omni Swivel Pulleys and associated variants may not be secure. If the button comes out the side plate can open, allowing the rope to fall out which can result in serious injury or death. It was discovered that a small number of pulleys manufactured from February 2020 through October 2022 may not have had adequate thread locker or sealant, allowing the set screw to back out. Under normal circumstances, either the thread lock or sealant is adequate to secure the button and prevent this issue. Rock Exotica is issuing a recall for Omni Block 1.1” style pulleys, manufactured from February 2020 through October 2022. These pulleys must be returned to us for inspection / repair. Rock Exotica is also issuing an inspection notice for all Omni Block style pulleys made from 2018 to current. Now that the 4th MATS conference has drawn to a close, I have been able to have a little time to sit back and reflect on the day.  This was our biggest conference to date and early indications from feedback provided by exhibitors and delegates, suggest it was a resounding success.  That is certainly the feedback from those I spoke to throughout the day.  I would like to thank our headline sponsor, Virtua, for their support of the MATS conference, along with our gold and silver exhibitors.  There are so many others to thank including, our speakers, all the delegates who attended and of course the volunteers from MATS who all made the event possible.  It would be great if you could complete the feedback survey emailed to you and we look forward to welcoming you to the next conference. From February 2022, virtual cards will begin to replace current Energy & Utility Skills Register (EUSR) Cards From February, individuals gaining a new EUSR registration will be issued with a virtual card. A physical smart card can also be requested if needed. To access their virtual card, a newly registered individual will be sent a text with a link to download an app on their mobile phone (either Android or Apple). The app will contain their virtual EUSR card, including details of all active registrations. When asked to produce the card, the individual will open the app and show the virtual card. The card checker will validate this using a free app called Checarda, which can be used with or without internet access. Alternatively, the individual's details can still be checked by entering them on the EUSR register search (available 24/7 at www.eusr.co.uk). Virtual cards will all display a card expiry date.
